Sub acest meniu veţi găsi elemente ale bazelor de date folosite de echipa Limes Transalutanus. Motivele ieşirii la public sunt mult dincolo de intenţia de a proba activitatea; nu vom enumera toate motivaţiile, fiind suficiente câteva. De exemplu, deşi orice proiect de cercetare trebuie şi poate să-şi protejeze interese de drepturi intelectuale, este necesar să analizăm ce anume trebuie „protejat” şi ce – din contră – nu reprezintă informaţii confidenţiale, cele din urmă urmând a intra în circuitul public  imediat, fiindcă societatea investeşte în astfelde proiecte, iar unele beneficii ar trebui să fie vizibile, cât mai timpuriu. În al doilea rând, contăm pe feed-back-ul cititorilor noştri, care ne-ar putea sugera idei interesante, sau doar utile. În al treilea rând ar fi chiar oportunitatea tehnică, având în vedere că unele baze de date – şi ne referim în mod special la cele de tip SQL – se pretează unor raportări relativ facile. Cu alte cuvinte, vizitatorii site-ului nostru web vor putea vedea în timp real ce progrese s-au mai făcut pe anumite segmente ale cercetării.

Within this section of the website one can find some of the information used by our team through an MSSQL database. Our goals are far beyond proving ‘our work’; although any research project has to protect its own intellectual rights, one has to disjoin what specifically has to be ‘protected’ by the information not so confidential, which could go right away in the public use. We have to consider the fact that the society is paying for our project, thus the sponsor should be able to see some early results, as soon as possible. Secondly, we are counting on our readers feed-back, which might suggest interesting – or at least useful – ideas, especially in the matter of toponymy, not always easy to understand. Thirdly, we provide this because it is relatively easy to do; a SQL data-base could be operational both for cooperation at the team-project level, as well as fuelling a dynamic web-page. Therefore, you will be able to see what we are doing in ‘real-time’.
